The ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition 2027 runs December 5 to 8, 2027 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has not named the 2027 venue on its site as of September 25, 2026. ASHP calls the Midyear "the largest meeting of pharmacists in the world," with over 20,000 pharmacy professionals from 86 countries, and its exhibitors sell to hospital and health-system pharmacy departments.
If you make pharmacy automation, compounding or IV equipment, medication management software, infusion devices, or point-of-care testing used by pharmacy teams, this guide covers who attends, what the booths cost, and what to do 90, 60 and 30 days before the meeting.

Who attends, and why they matter to a device or diagnostics company
The Midyear is a meeting of hospital and health-system pharmacists: pharmacy directors, clinical pharmacists, residents, students and technicians. ASHP describes its members as "pharmacists who serve as patient care providers in acute and ambulatory settings."
For a device or technology company, the pharmacy department matters for three reasons:
- Pharmacy owns the medication process. Automation, compounding, dispensing, IV workflow and medication safety systems are chosen or heavily shaped by pharmacy leadership.
- Pharmacy sits on the committees that approve new products. Pharmacy and therapeutics committees and medication safety committees review anything that touches how a drug is stored, prepared or given.
- Students and residents are part of the audience. The Midyear includes ASHP's Residency Showcase, so pharmacy students and residents looking for residency programs attend alongside department leaders.
A good Midyear plan separates the director who signs, the clinical pharmacist who evaluates, and the resident or student who will be using your product in a few years.
What to do 90, 60 and 30 days out
The meeting opens Sunday, December 5, 2027. Count back from that date. In 2026 ASHP made deposits nonrefundable after April 1, so book and size your space in the first quarter of 2027.
90 days out (around September 6, 2027)
- Confirm your booth and check the 2027 exhibit hall dates once ASHP publishes them. Do not assume the hall is open every day of the meeting.
- Decide what you will demonstrate. Pharmacy buyers want to see workflow: how an order moves through your system or device.
- Build a named list of health systems and pharmacy leaders to meet: current customers, systems with projects you know about, and directors in your sales territories.
60 days out (around October 6, 2027)
- Start outreach to pharmacy directors and managers on your list, each with a specific meeting time.
- Prepare material for the committee review your product will face: workflow impact, safety features, integration with the pharmacy information system and EHR, and support.
- Order booth graphics, demo equipment and shipping.
30 days out (around November 5, 2027)
- Confirm meetings. The 30-day mark falls before Thanksgiving, so send final invites and calendar holds early in November.
- Train booth staff on the questions pharmacy directors ask and the questions clinical pharmacists ask. They are different.
- Set up lead capture that records role and health system.
Booth and sponsorship costs
ASHP has not published 2027 rates as of September 25, 2026. The figures below come from the 2026 exhibit rules and regulations, published by ASHP's show manager, where they appear in worked examples of booth downsizing. Use them for planning only.
| Booth (2026) | Price stated in the 2026 rules |
|---|---|
| 10 ft x 10 ft | $5,100 |
| 10 ft x 20 ft | $10,200 |
| 10 ft x 30 ft | $15,300 |
| Corner | $350 per corner |
- In 2026, all deposits were nonrefundable after April 1, 2026, and an exhibitor who withdrew after that date owed the full price of the space.
- Sponsorship prices are not published on any ASHP page reachable on September 25, 2026. Ask ASHP directly.
Travel, staff time, freight and show services are separate and not published by ASHP. Get quotes before you commit to a booth size.
Pre-show plays
- Book meetings with pharmacy directors before the meeting. Directors come with full schedules, including residency and recruiting commitments.
- Lead with workflow and safety. Your invitation should say what your product changes in the pharmacy's day: time saved in compounding, fewer manual steps, how it supports medication safety work.
- Bring the integration answer. Most pharmacy technology decisions depend on whether it works with the systems the hospital already runs. Have a clear one-page answer.
- Invite current customers to speak. A pharmacy director who uses your product is the most credible voice at your booth.
At-show plays
- Staff the booth with pharmacists. A pharmacist on your team answers practice questions in the language the audience uses.
- Demonstrate a full workflow. Walk visitors through one order from start to finish.
- Give directors a quieter place to talk. Students and residents will visit too. Be welcoming, but move conversations with directors and managers to a quieter meeting space.
- Record the health system and project. What they are trying to fix and when they expect to decide.
Follow-up plays
- Follow up within two business days with the workflow material, safety information or demo request you promised.
- Prepare for committee review. Send material a clinical pharmacist can bring to a pharmacy and therapeutics or medication safety committee.
- Ask about budget timing. Health systems plan capital purchases on their own calendars. Ask each interested system when its next budget decision is, and schedule follow-up around that date.
- Keep residents and students on a separate list. They are not buying now, but they will be working in pharmacy departments soon.
Common mistakes at ASHP Midyear
- Talking to everyone the same way. A pharmacy director, a clinical pharmacist and a student need different conversations.
- No integration story. If you cannot explain how your product works with the hospital's systems, the conversation often ends there.
- Planning around the meeting dates instead of the hall dates. Check when the exhibit hall is open before booking staff time.
- Losing health-system details. A badge scan without the health system and project is hard to follow up.
Should you exhibit at ASHP Midyear in 2027?
Yes, if hospital or health-system pharmacy chooses, runs or evaluates your product: automation, compounding, IV and infusion workflow, medication management software, or anything that touches how drugs are stored, prepared or given.
Probably not as your main show if pharmacy has no role in buying or using your product. A meeting for the clinical specialty or department that does will reach your buyers better.
